UNION BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY PHOTOS BY RICHARD ROBERTS TEXT BY MARILYN JONES BAILEY
The first recording of stones at the Old Baptist Church Cemetery was done by Marilyn Jones Bailey and
published in the WSGS Newsletter, Vol. 17, No. 1, June 1970, p. 25.
Photos of the Cemetery appeared in a newspaper article in the Evansville Review, June 1978
The photographs and another recording of stone text was done in the fall of 2007 by Richard Roberts.
In cases where there is variation in the interpretation of stone text, more than one is recorded. .In
some cases, there were stones recorded by Marilyn Jones Bailey in 1970, that were not found in the
2007 survey.

Obituary
Died July 11th, 1890, at the home of his brother, Gardner Ingraham, in the town of Rutland, Dane Co., Wis.,
Rev. Frank B. Ingraham, aged 30 years.
The deceased was a member in good standing of the Wisconsin conference, Free Methodist Church, having
been received into the conference on trial in the fall of 1887, and into full connection and ordained Deacon in
the fall of 1889.
Brother Ingraham's life was very exemplary, his conversation godly, and his integrity unyielding. His ministerial
life though short was successful, he having made proof of his ministry. He was respected by saint and sinner.
His last charge was in the northern part of the state, which, on account of failing health, he was compelled to
resign last April, when he came to the home of his brother, where he died as stated above.
His illness though protracted and severe, was borne with Christian meekness and resignation. His father
preceded him not quite three weeks before. The funeral was held at the house on Sunday, July 13th, at 10
a.m., Rev. J. A. Murray conducting the services, after which the remains were laid away in the cemetery at
Union Village, by the side of his mother and sister to await the resurrection morn.
