The addresses in the 1900-1901
Evansville City Directory will not
correspond to today's addresses.  The odd
numbered and even numbered addresses
are often on the opposite of the street.
The post office numbering system was
first changed in 1914 with the start of
home delivery.  Then the addresses on
some streets were changed again in the
1990s to meet standards for the 911
Emergency Call System.

Example:  The home of Marilla & Eleanora
Andrews in 1900 was listed as 353
Church.  Today that address is 262 West

Another Example:  The Bank of
Evansville is listed in 1900 as 103 East
Main.  Today's address for UB&T bank in
the same location is 2 East Main.
